Get Real Productions was founded in 1999 by Sonia Curtis with a creative vision to teach actors, inspire, write, produce and direct various projects in the entertainment industry. The main goal at Get Real Productions is to find and develop new talent and projects and encourage partnership with other talented positive people who bring hard work, good attitudes, dedication and professionalism to their craft. SONIA CURTIS
Sonia has always wanted to help and inspire other actors and decided to establish "Get Real" Productions in 1999, based in Santa Monica, where she began to teach acting classes in small groups. After many years of experience with acting and coaching she decided to expand her talents into writing and producing. Sonia wrote her first screenplay, “Love Covers,” which is based on her own life. In 2006, Sonia and Jill began a partnership to create a supernatural TV drama pilot, “The Prophetess.” They then wrote a half hour sitcom “Define Family” and also a dramatic action short, “The Negotiator,” which is currently in development.
JILLIAN MCWHIRTER
Jill developed her writing talent while studying at Southern Methodist University. She started her career in entertainment as an actress on the soap opera, “Ryan’s Hope” and has consistently worked in theatre film and television ever since. After the birth of her daughter Jill turned her focus to writing and producing various projects. Since then, she has written several screenplays; including an erotic thriller “In the Dark”, a romantic comedy, “Daddy for Rent” and another thriller, “Where’s My Daughter.” Jill met Sonia while they were both acting in her first film; “Nowhere to Run” directed by Carl Franklin and is now very excited to work with Sonia again in broadening their various talents.
JEREMIAH ACERRA
Jeremiah began his career as a Production Assistant when he was seventeen years old. After a few years of hard work on various shows he was promoted to Assistant Director on the television show “Walker Texas Ranger” which he worked on for six years. He has since then consistently worked on many successful shows including “Las Vegas,” “Karen Sisco” and “Mr. Sterling.” He is currently a 1st Assistant Director in his fourth season on “Cold Case.” Jeremiah went to school for architecture at Cal Poly and is also a very talented painter who has had his artwork displayed in many galleries.
